Which SLR is right for me?
Long story short, my car was broken into.
I’m an amateur photographer who was formerly shooting with a Nikon D50, which is now stolen.
I’m trying to keep my mind open to new options at this point, perhaps there’s a better camera out there that’s better suited for my needs?
I often shoot in low-light settings, concerts etc…
I do a lot of portraits and fashion photography, band shoots…etc…
But I’m also a sucker for raw beauty, macro and cityscapes.

Since you have all the skills using a Nikon, stick with Nikon, the layout and menus well enhance your productivity.
Your style has noting to do with which camera you buy, but rather the lenses you need and any supplemental accessories.
Look at the D90 I am sure you will love it.

Use the insurance money and apply it to a D90 or D700.

I did and my Nikon D40 was recovered.

Nikon D700 if you can afford it, excellent low light performance, which is great for concerts.
