IMDB rating: 7.60 Plot: The true life story of Ralph Waldo “Petey” Greene Jr. In the mid-to-late 1960s, in Washington, D.C., vibrant soul music and exploding social consciousness were combining to unique and powerful effect. It was the place and time for Petey to fully express himself - sometimes to outrageous effect - and “tell it like it is.” With the support of his irrepressible and tempestuous girlfriend Vernell, the newly minted ex-con talks his way into an on-air radio gig. He forges a friendship and a partnership with fellow prison inmate Milo’s brother Dewey Hughes. From the first wild morning on the air, Petey relies on the more straight-laced Dewey to run interference at WOL-AM, where Dewey is the program director. At the station, Petey becomes an iconic radio personality, surpassing even the established popularity of his fellow disc jockeys, Nighthawk and Sunny Jim. Combining biting humor with social commentary, Petey openly courts controversy for station owner E.G. Sonderling. Petey was determined to make not just himself but his community heard during an exciting and turbulent period in American history. As Petey’s voice, humor, and spirit surge across the airwaves with the vitality of the era, listeners tune in to hear not only incredible music but also a man speaking directly to them about race and power in America like few people ever have. Through the years, Petey’s “The truth just is” style — on - and off-air - would redefine both Petey and Dewey, and empower each to become the man he would most like to be. |

Breaking up over sex?
I’ve been going out with this girl for a over a year now, and we have been having sex for a few months. I didn’t push her to have it (obviously), and I don’t push her to do more, but I recently asked her about how she feels about oral sex and she went, well, rather nuts. She told me she thought it was disgusting, and that I was disgusting for asking for it, although I only asked about it, and that she would never do it. So I stupidly I asked her if I could try it on her, and I got the same response. After that, she didn’t talk to me for a few days, and we didn’t have sex for two weeks, in which time I also learned she thought masturbation was disgusting as well.
We’re both 21 year old college students, we always use protection and she takes the pill, she wasn’t a virgin, but she doesn’t hop into bed right away "she likes to get to know the guy first", and I respect that, I pay for everything when we go out, shes not very adventurous during sex, and it seems that she gets more demanding as the relationship continues. I really like her though, but I know if I stay she will only continue to get more demanding, and I can’t stand that she can’t be open to even a little suggestion.
So my questions are:
1. Should I break up with her?
2. Am I breaking up with her over not getting oral (because she is bound to say I am)?
3. Is it too much to ask of a girl for more than just intercourse?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
What do you mean demanding?
If she was having oral sex would you care about her being demanding?
